What I’m up to these days: @Leafyourlife

So I’ve recently started an inbound marketing internship at this Boston-based startup called Leaf, where I’m currently managing content for their blog and helping out with social media strategy.

I got in contact with Leaf through Lisandro Quiñones, who saw The Social U and asked me if I wanted to come in for an interview. Their headquarters are located at Intrepid Labs in Cambridge, and they’re up to some pretty awesome stuff. It’s an exciting idea with an awesome team, and I’m glad to contribute my part.

For more information about Leaf, check out the video below. If you want to see the work I’m currently doing for them, check out their blog here!

P.S. Check out Leaf on Twitter: @Leafyourlife.

Yes, it took a while, but yours truly making the big jump at the quarry in my last #SundayAdventures post.

So sadly, the only #SundayAdventure we went on this past weekend was to the Tisch Library at Tufts University. My friends and I all had exams this week and thus couldn’t adventure off campus this weekend. However, I will post one of our original #SundayAdventures from past Fall semester. It was a beautiful day and we went to an old abandoned quarry up in Middlesex county, Mass. It was about 45 minutes northwest of the city, but definitely worth it. I cannot really tell you the exact location, because my friend and tour guide Brett Plugis didn’t want his ‘spot’ blown up (gotta respect). Regardless, this place was extremely impressive and proved to be a good time. It is hidden in the woods behind a high school in the area and it is home to many graffiti tags. Yes, you have to hike about 15 minutes to get here and to be honest, I don’t think I could probably go back there by myself because I’d get horribly lost. Anyway, this place was once a rock quarry many many years ago and since its abandonment, it has gotten filled with rainwater over the years and is kind of like a big lake. Did we get in? Well, the water looked pretty nasty and maybe even there’s a body down there (who knows? probably though), so why not? We decided to get in the water so we could jump the 30 or so ft. drop into the lake and we got some sick pictures. Hope you enjoy.

For this past Sunday, my friend Brett Plugis and I -accompanied by colleagues Ryan Tran and Emil Cliggot-, went to Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, MA. More or less 45 minutes up north of Boston, our trip to Good Harbor beach combined Sunny, 50º weather with sand, freezing water, rock climbing and some extraordinary views (not to mention a whole bunch of dogs). Once we arrived, we found suitable parking and realized that it was low tide. This meant that we could walk over and adventure on Salt Island, a small windy island right off the beach filled with thorns and boulders and overall, fun. We went around to the North side of the island and decided to trek down to the Souther part, over the conglomerate of enormous boulders facing east and out into the sea abyss. We spent the entire afternoon climbing rocks and checking out the more daring corners of the island, until we realized the tide was coming back in and we had to get a move on if we didn’t want to swim back to the beach in freezing water. Pictures up top, hope you enjoy.
